Church of Greece Holy Synod to convene this week

The standing Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece will convene for three consecutive days this week, to deal with various issues on its agenda, including a draft bill expected to be unveiled shortly by the Greek government, one that affects secondary ecclesiastical academies. The Church has expressed its opposition over any change in the status and number of such institutions, which number four in the country.
