Elder Ephraim’s condition stable, critical on Fri.

The Elder Archimandrite Ephraim’s condition remained stable but critical on Friday, attending physicians announced, almost three days after a sudden deterioration in his health.
The Abbot of the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi remains intubated in the Evangelismos Hospital’s ICU.

Two days have passed since the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 16, when complications from hospital-acquired infections caused a deterioration in his condition, reversing the previous improvement in the Elder’s health. The immediate intervention by medical staff proved decisive.

Attending physicians were able to stabilize the beloved Elder’s condition with strong medications, with a subsequent improvement ascertained.
