EU digital covid certificate comes on line on Tues.

A European digital Covid certificate was made available to Greek citizens as of Tuesday.

The idea for such a Covid certificate, in fact, was an initiative promoted by the Greek government.

A citizen can receive the certificate under one of three conditions, namely, if a person is fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus; or, if a person has recovered from Covid-19 in the last six months, and finally, if a person has tested negative for the virus in the previous 72 hours from the time a certificate is requested.
Greece’s relevant digital governance minister added that citizens can print the certificate and travel to countries that accept it, keep a digital version on their smart phones or tablets, or retain a QR code of the certificate on their devices.

In a statement to the Cabinet on Tuesday, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis noted that the certificate “…expresses our readiness for a safe and free summer”.
