Patriarchs, Heads of Churches of Jerusalem call for end of violence in Holy City

The Patriarchs and Heads of Churches of Jerusalem on Monday issued a urgent message on the occasion of violent events that took place in East Jerusalem.

The hierarchs stated that “…We call upon the International Community and all people of goodwill to intervene in order to put an end to these provocative actions, as well as to continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem”.

On his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday evening warned that anyone who attacks Israel will pay a heavy price, shortly after Palestinian militants launched dozens of rockets from Gaza into Israel.

He also warned that the current confrontation could continue for some time.
